O edifício de 1950 situado numa rua tranqüila no Humaitá tinha uma planta compartimentada, que não mais refletia as necessidades contemporâneas da habitação urbana. Na sua modernização, o apartamento teve um dos quartos, cozinha e parte da área de serviço integrada à sala, proporcionando um grande ambiente de encontro. Já as dependências de serviço foram incorporadas a outro dos quartos e transformadas num banheiro, criando uma suíte.

As vigas e colunas foram descascadas e deixadas no concreto, revelando a verdadeira anatomia da construção.

The building from the 50’s located on a quiet street in Humaitá, had a very divided internal organization that didn’t respond to the current needs of urban life anymore. During its modernization process, the flat lost one of its bedrooms, kitchen and part of service area, which were swallowed by the living room, increasing the social dynamic of the space. The rest of the service area was attached to the other bedroom and turned into the suite’s bathroom.

The beams and columns were peeled and left in the concrete, showing the true anatomy of the construction.
